The dimensions of 21 x 11 x 6 cm provide a comfortable grip and good coverage per stroke.

The sponge is designed to minimise the risk of scratches and swirl marks in the paintwork during manual car washing. The soft material conforms to the contours of the bodywork and reaches into hard-to-access areas. See more wash tools and car care products in our range.

What is a Car Wash Sponge and why choose it?

A car wash sponge is a manual washing tool intended for applying car shampoo and water to a vehicle's painted surface. Unlike cloths and rags, a sponge with high absorbency is better at retaining a sufficient amount of liquid, which reduces friction against the paintwork and helps protect the surface against scratches.

The K2 Car Wash Sponge is well suited for regular car washing where paint protection and gentle handling are priorities. The soft material is appropriate for clear coat, metallic paint, and other sensitive surface finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does the K2 Car Wash Sponge work for washing clear coat and metallic paint?

Yes. The K2 Car Wash Sponge is made from a soft material with high absorbency, making it suitable for gentle washing of sensitive surfaces such as clear coat and metallic paint. The soft material helps reduce the risk of scratches and swirl marks when used correctly with a sufficient amount of car shampoo and water.

What are the dimensions of the K2 Car Wash Sponge and how do they affect use?

The K2 Car Wash Sponge (model K2000202) measures 21 x 11 x 6 cm. The generous size provides an ergonomic grip and covers a larger area per stroke compared to smaller sponges, making the washing process more efficient. The 6 cm thickness helps the sponge retain a good amount of wash solution during use.

What distinguishes the K2 Car Wash Sponge from an ordinary household sponge?

The K2 Car Wash Sponge is specifically developed for paint care and car washing, unlike household sponges which often contain abrasive scouring layers that can scratch a vehicle's painted surface. The material in the K2 Car Wash Sponge is soft throughout and optimised for high absorbency, providing a safer and more gentle washing experience.
